kpmg

Our youth heard from Benjie Thomas, FCPA, FCA the Canadian Managing Partner for Advisory Services at KPMG, on making smart decisions and the importance of building a brand for yourself.

Our youth were challenged with presenting a re-branding pitch for well known companies and judged based on their learnings from the day.

roche

BridgeTO Youth had the honour to be invited Roche Canada’s head office in Mississauga for the launch of their STEM initiative. This was a full day event filled with activities, workshops and challenges exclusively planned for our youth.

The STEM initiative aimed to work with students to develop skills that will help youth become innovative thinkers and problem solvers. Our youth walked away with more than innovative ways of thinking and an exercise in problem-solving tactics. The workshops exposed our youth and increased their awareness to the multitude of paths available after getting a degree in STEM.

max

BridgeTO has had the opportunity to partner with MAX multiple times this past year; our youth attended an event exploring career options, where they met professionals from a variety of industries. We also had the privilege to attend the annual MAX Scholarship reception and Gala event; these events were eye-opening and served to showcase many inspiring paths to success. Many of the winners of the MAX Scholarships have excelled in academic and achieved outstanding contributions in their communities. One of the highlights of our year was attending the launch of MAX Business; not only did we have the opportunity to hear from leaders in the corporate business world but we challenged these leaders with our thought provoking ideas.

PWC

BridgeTO Youth was invited to a discussion with PwC partners Derek Michael Quashie, Zainab Walji and Brooke Valentine. It was hosted at the PwC office in Toronto and discussed the importance of financial management for life progression with our wonderful young people who are about to go to university and college.

TVO

Students had the opportunity to learn from Jeyan Jeganathan and Nam Kiwanuka about their unique journeys to journalism. They not only had the opportunity to watch Steve Paikin interview Desmond Cole but also had a chance to have an eye opening conversation about journalism, activism and issues young people face today.
